Betty Ann Buckner, 64, Nevada, died Friday, March 27, 2009, at Nevada Regional Medical Center in Nevada. She was born July 4, 1944 in Nevada, to George W. Buckner and Addie Mae Ellifrits Buckner.

Betty lived most of her life in the Nevada, Vernon County area. She liked dancing, the outdoors, and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed her flower gardening.

Survivors include her special friend of 11 years, Russell Wyrick, of the home; three sons, Billy Joe Fahnestock, Cameron, Mo., Clayton Fahnestock and his wife Elizabeth, Milo, and Butch Mealman and his friend, Lisa Johnson, Urich, Mo.; one daughter, Mary B. Mealman, Nevada; four brothers, Everett Buckner and his wife Mary Jane, Nevada, Freddie Buckner, Nevada, Raymond Buckner and his wife Mary, Sheldon, and Stanley Buckner and his wife Linda, Lawrence, Kan.; one sister Erma Allen, Rockville, Mo.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Floyd Dwayne Fahnestock; one daughter, Vicki Ann Smith; one brother James Buckner, and one sister, Dorothy Buckner.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Terry Mosher officiating. Interment will follow in Welborn Cemetery, Moundville, Mo.

Friends may call from now and until the time of service at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada, and the family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday between 7 and 8 p.m.
