Kylie Michelle Leyva, 14, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2009 at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Mo. She was born May 27, 2009, in Las Vegas, Nev., to Richard Garcia Leyva and Danielle Johnson Leyva Stephenson.

Kylie was born in Las Vegas and moved to California when she was a year old. She came to Nevada, three years ago and has resided here since. She loved music, her friends, and her phone. She was a typical teen.

Survivors include, her mother, Danielle Stephenson and her husband Steve, Nevada; her father, Rick Leyva, Walnut, Calif.; one brother, Joey Stephenson, Nevada; one sister, Destiny Stephenson, Nevada; maternal grandmother, Linda Johnson, Rialto, Calif., maternal grandfather, Tommy Thomas, Riverside, Calif.; paternal grandparents, Richard and Marie Leyva, Walnut, Calif.; step-grandparents, Arthur and Delores Stephenson, Nevada; great-grandmothers, Frances Sharp, Rialto, Calif., and Irene Johnson, Yucaipa, Calif.; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 30, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with pastor David Rorabaugh officiating. Following the service the family will receive friends at 608 E. Cherry, Nevada.

Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington, Nevada.

Memorials may be made to a trust fund in Kylie's name in care of the funeral home.
