Letter to the Editor

Beware of stimulus package scam

Thursday, June 11, 2009

Dear Editor.

I'm writing this letter to let others know there is a stimulus package scam going on. I received the call on my cell phone on June 9. The recording stated that this was a call from the federal government for a stimulus package -- that if you act immediately you would receive $2,500 and never have to pay it back. The call stated to go to www.nevergiveitback.com -- the phone number (202) 280-2428 was the call on my cell.

I called to report it to the Sheriffs Office, I was told to call the Police Department.

I called the Police Department and was told to call the Sheriffs Office.

I called the Vernon County Courthouse and was told they didn't know who to report it to!

I then called Barney Fisher and he reported it to the attorney general and told me it was a scam.

Thank you Barney Fisher for looking out for and listening to this senior citizen of Nevada.
