Amy Bernice McCoy, 98, passed away at Medicalodge of Gardner, KS on June 10, 2009. Graveside Services will be 11 a.m., Monday, June 15, at Moran Cemetery in Moran, KS. The daughter of Henry and Olive Mason Keith, Bernice was born Aug. 13, 1910, on a farm near Uniontown. She grew up in Kansas except for five years spent near Spearman, Texas. She graduated from Bronson High School and taught one year in a rural school. Bernice married W.E. "Pete" McCoy on July 11, 1930 in Oswego, Kan. He died in March 1981. Bernice was a member of the Moran United Methodist Church and the order of the Eastern Star, Moran Chapter. She made beautiful quilts that were shared by family members. She was a devoted grandmother and will be remembered for her wonderful cooking and her generous gifts. She had a loving smile and will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Pete, daughter Beverly C. Stevens and siblings Earl, Ben, Kenneth, Fay, Boyce, Elbert and Mary Frances. Survivors include son in law Raymond "Arch" Stevens of Gardner; three granddaughters, Shelley Denman (Bob), Shawn Gotobed (Dan), and Shannon Stevens; five great-grandsons; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
