Wednesday, June 24, 2009

The Nevada High School golf program is set to host their annual golf academy for all interested youth who have completed first through eighth grade.

The academy will consist of four sessions that are geared toward teaching the basics of putting, the full swing, chipping, pitching, golf etiquette and the rules of the game. The cost of the clinic will be $30 and will include a T-shirt, four instructional sessions and entry into the tournament that is to be held on the clinic's final day.

The four instructional sessions will be held at the Frank E. Peters Municipal Golf Course in Nevada July 13-17, with first through fifth graders going first from 9-10:15 a.m., followed immediately by the sixth through eighth graders from 10:30-11:45 a.m.

All participants will play in a tournament on the final day of the clinic. The younger group will play on the junior course that is located on the driving range, while the older group will play on the Frank E. Peters Municipal Golf Course.
