Wylliams/Henry dance company to perform Sept. 8

The Wylliams/Henry Contemporary Dance Company will perform at Cottey College on Tuesday, Sept. 8, at 8 p.m. in the auditorium of the Haidee and Allen Wild Center for the Arts.

The troupe has been hailed by critics and audiences alike as one of the most exciting, captivating dance troupes in the Midwest.

"Dance Magazine," in fact, has spotlighted Wylliams/Henry in their critic's choice issue of favorite picks across America.

They present a unique mix of graceful athleticism, exuberant energy, and diversity of subject matter in uplifting and thought-provoking performances.

This special performance coincides with the 125th anniversary of Cottey College. The first day of classes was held on Sept. 8, 1884.

Tickets for the performance are $6 for adults and $5 for those under age 18 or over age 62.

Tickets also will be available at the door on the night of the show.

Financial assistance for Wylliams/Henry Contemporary Dance Company has been provided by the Missouri Arts Council, a state agency.

The Center for the Arts is located on the northeast corner of Austin and Tower streets in Nevada, Mo.
