Girls' golfers earn road win

The Nevada Lady Tigers golf team traveled to Seneca Tuesday for their second match of the season and came home with a strong victory.

The Lady Tigers posted an overall team score of 207 -- 30 strokes ahead of second place Carl Junction -- and finished with four of the top five individual scores. Carl Junction's Paige Drummond tied for second with a final score of 52 to take the only top five spot that wasn't claimed by Nevada.

Emmaly Ellis posted the overall low of the day as she finished the course with a 49, while Melea Galimberto and Jessica Mosbrucker tied with Drummond for second at 52. Mariah Jones rounded out the top five as she finished the course with a final score of 54.

Nevada's Morgan Turner took the 10th spot overall with a score of 60, while Bailey Hutchison and Myra Ornelas each took top-15 finishes as well, posting scores of 62 and 64, respectively. Ashley Shumaker rounded out the order for the Lady Tigers as she finished with a score of 67 to take 18th overall.

The Lady Tigers are set to be out on the road again today as they head to Girard, Kan., to compete in the Girard Invitational tournament.
