Willard Leroy Wyckoff

Willard Leroy Wyckoff, 71, of Independence, Mo., passed away, Monday, Sept. 14, 2009 at his residence. Cremation is planned with private family inurnment in Pleasant View Cemetery in Fort Scott. Willard was born Nov. 22, 1937 in Vernon County, Mo., to Lawrence and Zora A. (Dunbar) Wyckoff.

He had worked for more than 45 years as a bricklayer for the local bricklayer's union in Kansas City. He proudly served in the United States Army during Vietnam. He enjoyed gardening, puzzles and building. He was a member of the Deerfield Baptist Church in Deerfield, Mo. and the F.O.E. No. 3717 in Sugar Creek, Mo. He was married to Donna L. (Barker); she preceded him in death on Jan. 3, 2009.

Survivors include; his siblings, Wanda Haley, William Wyckoff, Wiley Wyckoff, Weldon Wyckoff and Rhonda Bailey; a daughter, Wanda Gail Wyckoff; four grandchildren, Anita, Jennifer, Elizabeth and Doug Leeper; two great-grandchildren, Alex and Christopher Leeper; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Gail Wyckoff in 1965, and two siblings, Wilma Carpenter and Wayne Wyckoff.
