Letter to the Editor

Stop the pornography

Wednesday, September 23, 2009

Dear Editor:

After I spoke at the last City Council meeting in Nevada, where I read from three different sources definitely linking pornography to sex crimes, I received a letter telling me to "stay home" and stop "snooping" in Nevada's business.

Since the letter was not signed I will answer in the Nevada Daily Mail.

Although my address is rural El Dorado Springs, I live in Vernon County. I pay taxes at the courthouse in Nevada. I shop, bank and attend church services in Nevada.

As for minding my own business, when something harms a community morally and puts both adults and children in danger of violent sex crimes it is not only my business, but the business of every Christian willing to obey the command God's word gives us in Ephesians 5:11; "have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them."

Incidentally, there was standing room only at the council meeting because so many people are concerned about the pornography problem.

To get involved with us or to save a stamp on anonymous letters you can call me at (417) 876-8414.
