CARL JUNCTION, Mo. -- The Nevada Middle School seventh grade football A and B teams each suffered a tough loss on the road Thursday as they took on Carl Junction Middle School.

The B game was a close contest that featured just three touchdowns between the two teams and Carl Junction pulled out a 12-6 victory. Joe Reed scored the lone touchdown for the Tigers in their first loss of the year.

The A game was a much more one-sided contest as the Bulldogs cruised their way to a 22-8 victory. Ryan Ferris scored the lone touchdown while Tristan Smith completed a two-point conversion in Nevada's second loss of the season.

The B team's record dropped to 1-1 on the year while the A team fell to 1-2. Both teams are scheduled to be in action again on Oct. 6, as they host Joplin South.
