Clip for a Cure event today

The Nevada SmartStyle Salon inside Wal-Mart is participating in the Clip for a Cure, a fund raising project to help the Regis Foundation for Breast Cancer Research. There are events planned each week of the month of October.

For the first project stylists are donating their time and energy on Oct. 3 to give $10 haircuts with all proceeds going to the foundation.

The salon is also selling ribbons for $1 and those purchasing can do so in the memory of a victim of breast cancer or survivor. On Oct. 31 the ribbons will be tied to pink helium balloons and released into the air.

On Oct. 10 the salon will host a bake sale with lots of cookies, cinnamon rolls, monkey bread and brownies, and other events are planned later this month.

The SmartStyle chain has sponsored the fund raising activities for 12 years and the Nevada salon joined in when it opened five years ago.
