Erma Jean Davis, age 77, a resident of Fort Scott, died Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009, at the Scottsdale Healthcare Shea Campus in Scottsdale, Ariz.. She was born Dec. 13, 1931, in Stark City, Mo., the daughter of Richard Francis Hazelwood and Alta Elvira Owens Hazelwood. She married Robert Kent Davis on June 12, 1952, at Overland Park, Kan. Jeanie had received her bachlor's degree in nursing and had worked in home health care and various hospitals. She enjoyed writing as well as painting and had participated in several painting courses. She also enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Europe and taking missionary trips to Mexico. She faithfully attended the Parkway Church of God (Holiness).

Survivors include her husband, Bob, of the home in Fort Scott; a son, Kent Davis and wife, Maria, St. Paul, Kan.; three daughters, Susan Arnold and husband, Philip, Connie Wollenhaupt and husband, Ron, and Lisa Bailey and husband, Shane, all of Fort Scott; a brother, Donald Hazelwood, Bartlesville, Okla.; and a sister, Darlene Masden, Spring Hill, Kan.; 11 grandchildren, Elizabeth Davis, Parsons, Kan., Brooke Davis, Olathe, Kan., Jonathan Davis, St. Paul, Kan., Caleb Arnold and wife, Stephanie, Cincinnati, Ohio, Levi Arnold and wife, Alyssa, Benjamin Arnold, Nathanael Arnold, Josh Wollenhaupt, Shelby Bailey, Emily Bailey and Eva Bella Bailey, all of Fort Scott; as well as two great-grandchildren Mason and Madyson Waun.

The Revs. Donald Hazelwood, Manuel Marquis and Reuben Lowery, will conduct funeral services at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Parkway Church of God (Holiness). Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Fort Scott Christian Heights School and may be left in care of the Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S. Main, P.O.
