Bulldogs dominate in road contest

Wednesday, October 14, 2009

The Liberal Bulldogs football team added another strong victory to their record as they traveled to McAuley High School Friday night.

McAuley was able to get on the scoreboard twice in the game, reaching the end zone on two consecutive possessions in the second quarter, but never really gave the Bulldogs much of a challenge. The Bulldogs found the end zone twice in each period, racking up 55 points in a dominant, 55-14 victory.

Liberal quarterback Colten Selvey passed for 91 yards and one touchdown in the contest while Jordan Meadows led the Bulldogs' rushing attack with 269 yards and three touchdowns on 22 carries. Liberal dominated the game on the offensive side of the ball as they put up a staggering 618 yards of offense to McAuley's 243.

The Bulldogs gained a majority of those yards through the running game as they put up 527 yards on the ground to just 91 through the air.

Both teams were even in the turnover battle as the Bulldogs lost two fumbles while McAuley lost one fumble and threw an interception.

The Bulldogs are scheduled to be back in action this Friday night as they continue their roadtrip, traveling to Greenfield, Mo.
