Conservation department to host black bear awareness workshop

The Missouri Department of Conservation will be hosting a workshop to educate Missouri residents on the presence of black bears around the state.

Wildlife Damage Biologist James Dixon will act as the workshop host, teaching all participants about the habits and nature of black bears. The program will be open to families and anyone interested in attending.

The program is scheduled to be held on Friday, Nov. 6, from 6-7 p.m., at the Wildcat Glades Conservation and Audubon Center in Joplin, Mo, and will be held at no charge to participants.
