Thomas Edward Briscoe, age 45, of Sheldon, passed away Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009, at Nevada Regional Medical Center following an illness of four years. He was born Aug. 27, 1964, in Kansas City, Mo., to Marion Cecil Briscoe and Carolyn Kay Jackson Briscoe. He married Shelley DeAnne White on Nov. 22, 2002, and she survives of the home.

Following his graduation from Sheldon High School, he worked as a psychiatric aide at both Heartland the Nevada State Hospital. Thomas shortly then joined the Navy where he served as a cook for officers, even preparing meals for two presidents, something of which he was very proud. After leaving the Navy, he again worked at Heartland and the State Hospital, as well as working for a time in construction. His last few years were spent at home caring for his daughters.

Thomas is survived by one son, Nathan Briscoe, U.S. Armed Forces; two daughters, Thomara Michelle Briscoe and Mya Lexzia Briscoe, of the home; his mother, Kay Briscoe, of Foster, Mo.; grandfather, Charlie Briscoe, of Foster, and one brother, Scott Briscoe, Springfield, Mo.; three uncles, Clyde Briscoe, of Foster, Mark Briscoe, Riley, Kan., and Hugh Logan, Sheldon; father-in-law, Doyle White; brother-in-law, Mark White and his wife Chris, and sister-in-law Kristi Toliver and her husband Darren, all of El Dorado Springs, Mo., and Kasey Sindel and her husband Steve, St. Louis, Mo.; three great-aunts, Betty Briscoe and Ora Briscoe, Selah, Wash., and Nadyne Bond, of Nevada; cousins, nieces, and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Marion Briscoe; sister, Sharon Renea Briscoe; mother-in-law, Darlene White; grandparents, Estille and Lillian Jackson; grandmother, Prudence Briscoe, and aunts, Marilyn Logan and Bonnie Briscoe.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 6, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Jerod Lamb officiating. Interment will follow in Woodfin Cemetery, north of Foster, Mo. Friends may call now and until the hour of service and the family receives friends 7-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to a fund for the children's education in care of Ferry Funeral Home.
