Dolores Jean "Dee" Foland, 77, Kansas City, Mo., formerly of Nevada, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009, at her home in Kansas City following an illness of several months. She was born Jan. 3, 1932, in Murphysboro, Ill., to Charles Edward Cherry and Myrtle B. Quinn Cherry. She married Hal E. Foland on June 15, 1951, in Nevada, and he survives of the home.

Dolores moved to Osawatomie, Kan., at a young age and later to Nevada, where she graduated from high school in 1949. She lived in Wichita from 1971-1980 and has resided in Kansas City, Mo., ever since. She was a member of the Boutonniere Square Dance Club in Kansas City, Mo.

In addition to her husband, Hal, she is survived by five children, Cherry Lahar and her husband Don, Wichita, Kan., Lisa Schorpp and her husband David, Ft. Worth, Texas, John Foland and his wife Valerie, Douglass, Kan., Tracie Weatherly and her husband Larry, Lee's Summit, Mo., and Kyle Foland and his wife Carol, Kansas City, Mo.; 10 grandchildren, Taylor, Jean, MacKenzie, Tanner, Maleah, Jordan, Kasey, Josh, Paxton, Ty, and Spencer; one great-grandson, Braxton, and numerous nieces, nephews, and her many friends. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Rex Cherry and Charles Cherry.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 12, at the Raintree Community Church, Lee's Summit, Mo., with pastor Ken Erisman officiating. Interment will follow at 3:30 p.m. in Newton Burial Park, Nevada. Friends may call now and until 8 p.m., Wednesday, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
