Taxi contract on Council agenda

The Nevada City Council will be considering the first reading of a special ordinance approving a contract with M-NOD Taxi Service to provide service for the city's taxi coupon program and to operate the city's handicap accessible van.

They will also be considering the first reading of an ordinance to make an addition to the city's contract with Sprouls Construction for the airport terminal building.

The council will also be considering an ordinance approving a contract with the Missouri Safety Center to pay overtime for the enforcement during five statewide campaigns including the Holiday DWI campaign, St. Patrick's Day. Cinco de Mayo, Fourth of July as well as the "You Drink and Drive, You LOSE" campaign.

Other items include a contract with the Western Missouri 911 Dispatch Center and a resolution revising the city's 2009 substance abuse policy for public transportation providers.

The council will also be considering the final readings of ordinances to change the zoning at 420 W. Cherry from R-3 apartment to C-3, commercial district at the request of Brent Ernsbarger, the property owner.

Another item on the agenda is a contract with DSWA, CPA, for the city's 2009 audit. They were the low bidder and have conducted the city's audit for several years.

The council will also be considering an accounting consultation agreement with Diehl, Banwart & Bolton, PC. Terry Sercer, who is an accountant with the firm has provided consultant services for the city in the past.

Other items on the agenda include the appointment of Julie McKinley, Catherine Hissink and David Millam to the NRMC Board of Directors and the consideration of bids for rock and concrete for the public works department.
