Oliver Wayne "Buzz" Sinn

Oliver Wayne "Buzz" Sinn, age 82, of Fort Scott, died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009, at the Truman Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lamar, Mo. He was born July 6, 1927, in Fort Scott, the son of Fred G. Sinn and Elsie Eberle Sinn. Buzz married Juanita Mae Davis on May 28, 1950, in Fort Scott. He operated his own farm prior to working for the U-234 School System. He retired in 1992 at head of maintenance following 24 years of employment with U-234. He also worked carpentry during those years in remodeling homes and building three of his and Juanita own homes. Buzz was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church. His hobbies included coon hunting, fishing, and working with wood. He also loved to travel. His main interest included time with his loving wife, children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Juanita, of the home; two sons, David Sinn and wife Jolene, Berne, Ind., and Steve Sinn, Fort Scott; three daughters, Linda Banwart and husband Gene, Liberal, Mo., Sondra Gann and husband Terry, Blue Springs, Mo., and Becky Blaser, Lamar; brother, Lester Sinn, Fort Scott; sister, Ilene McDaniel, Fort Scott; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and 15 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jim Sinn and Dean Sinn; and an infant sister, Joyce Elaine Sinn.

Elder John Lehman will conduct funeral services at 2 p.m., Tuesday, in the Apostolic Christian Church. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., in the Cheney Witt Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Apostolic Christian Church and may be sent to Cheney Witt Chapel, P.O.
