Kids fair to be held at health department offices on Feb. 4, 23

The Women's, Infants' and Children's Program and the Nevada R-5 Parents As Teachers Program are sponsoring a community kids' fair for all families in Vernon County during the month of February at the W.I.C. Office at the Vernon County Health Department. There will be two dates for this event, Feb. 4 and 23, 8 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m.

The general topic for this year's fair is "get fit" emphasizing fitness for children and parents. Several agencies and organizations will have displays and materials available for families at the Kid's Fair. The following have been invited to participate: Head Start Program, Nevada Public Library, Mothers Of Preschoolers, University of Missouri Extension Service, Family Nutrition Education Program, Moss House, Nevada Regional Medical Center, Molina, Ability Network, Parents As Teachers Program, Vernon County Health Department, and Women's Infants and Children's Program, BABE Breastfeeding Support Group, and Buckle Up Baby Program. Also, there should be representatives from the state insurance Missouri Heath Net programs: Children's Mercy Family Health Partners and Health Care USA.

The event offers attendees the opportunity to receive information from several agencies on a variety of topics. It is free and open to the public.
