Robert Virgil Jones

Robert Virgil Jones, 74, Nevada, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010, at Moore-Few Care Center in Nevada following a lengthy illness. He was born March 5, 1935, in Lebanon, S.D., to Waldo C. Jones and Mary Z. Garner Jones. He married Anna Mae Boyd on March 9, 1957, and they renewed their vows on March 9, 1995, in Bellflower, Calif. She survives of the home.

Robert grew up in South Dakota. He farmed with his family at an early age. At the age of 18, he went to Bellflower, Calif., and worked for CPS for 33 years. He worked in the Oil Fields, retiring as Supervisor in 1990. He and his wife moved to Nevada in 1990. Robert was a member of the Nevada Eagle's Aerie Lodge No. 3770. He also loved fishing and camping.

Survivors in addition to his wife Anna include five children, Wallace Jones and his wife Jerri, Nevada, Herbert Jones Sr., and his wife Mary, Nevada, Mary Brinson and her husband Doug, Frontenac, Kan., Mechelle Jones and Daniel Rockstad, Nevada, and Roberta Jones, Nevada; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Herbert C. Jones, Rapid City, S.D.; and three sisters, Bernice Stocksted, Rapid City, S.D., Virginia Cope of the state of Arizona, and Lena Kaizer, Pierre, S.D.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 17, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada. Cremation will follow. Friends may call now and until the hour of service and the family receives friends 7-8 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 16, at the funeral home.
