Gregory F. Leonard, 64, of Nevada, died on Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Mo. He was born July 25, 1945, in Chicago, Ill., to James Fox Leonard and Mildred Lucille McCaghy Leonard.

Greg came to Nevada at age 15 to live with his aunt and uncle, Alice and Roy Hill. He graduated from Nevada High School in 1963. Greg served in Vietnam from 1967-1968 in the U.S. Army. He spent most of his life as a self-employed plumber in the Chicago area. Following retirement, he moved back to Nevada in 1999. He was a member of the Nevada VFW, Nevada Eagles, and was past exalted ruler of the BPO Elks Lodge No. 564.

Survivors include one son, Nicholas J. Leonard, Chicago, Ill.; two brothers, Wayne Palmer Leonard and his wife Marie, Chicago, Ill., and Milo Keith Leonard, Costa Mesa, Calif.; three sisters, Mary Ellen Arturi and her husband Russell, Chicago, Ill., Rita Breeding and her husband Glen, Ocala, Fla., and Faith Dallas and her husband Rouben, Denver, Colo.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Lois Loretta Leonard.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m., on Tuesday, April 6, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Nevada, with Father Justin Hoye officiating. Friends may call now and until noon on Tuesday at Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington, Nevada.
