Joyce Elaine Farmer, 55, Nevada, passed away Friday, April 9, 2010, at Nevada Regional Medical Center in Nevada following a lengthy illness. She was born Sept. 1, 1954, in Fort Scott, to Verlin Simmons and Barbara Baysinger Simmons. She was married Sept. 3, 2004, in Nevada, to Jack Farmer and he survives of the home.

Joyce grew up in Fort Scott, and graduated from Fort Scott High School. She had worked at the Nevada State Hospital, and Helig Myers Furniture in Nevada. She had recently worked for Med Plans Inc. in Fort Scott for the past 10 years until her retirement due to illness. She lived in Nevada for the past 13 years.

In addition to her husband Jack, survivors include, four children, Cheryl Cooper, Harwood, Mo., Terry Harth and his wife Crystal, Moundville, Kandi Neher and her husband Adam, Richards, Mo., and Jacqueline Farmer, Nevada; her mother, Barbara Marsh and stepfather Don Marsh, Fort Scott; six grandchildren, Cole Cooper, Cierin Cooper, Catie Cooper, James Neher, Jordyn Kirby, and Lilly Kirby; five brothers, Mike Simmons, Oklahoma City, Okla., Jerry Simmons, and twin brothers, Ronnie and Donnie Marsh, all of Fort Scott, Mark Simmons, Hemphill, Texas; two sisters, Tammy Miller, Fort Scott, and Angie Simmons, Hemphill, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 17, at Moore Cemetery in Nevada, with Ray Dean Scism officiating.

Friends may call now and until 10 a.m., on Saturday at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
