Ride 'em, cowgirl

Rebecca Rowland, a fifth grade student at Eugene Ware Elementary School, rides the mechanical bull during an event hosted by Fort Scott Community College on Thursday at the FSCC Arnold Arena. During the event, a group of Eugene Ware fifth grade students watched various demonstrations by FSCC rodeo team members, who performed team roping, goat tying, steer wrestling, calf roping, barrel racing, and bull riding events. After the demonstrations, students who had received the most points for reading on their own as part of their class' reading program were given an opportunity to ride the mechanical bull. A group of first and second graders from Winfield Scott Elementary School attended the rodeo demonstrations on Friday.
