Sara Simons and Grant Kohlstaedt exchanged vows on Aug. 8, 2009, at the First United Methodist Church in Kearney, Mo., with the Rev. Fred Leist officiating. A reception followed at Embassy Suites Kansas City - International Airport. The couple enjoyed their honeymoon at Big Cedar Lodge, Branson, Mo.

Members of the bridal party included Jaci Schuyler, Wichita, serving as maid of honor; Janessa Brindza, Newberg, Ore., serving as martron of honor; and Trent Kohlstaedt, Kearney, Mo., serving as best man.

The bride is the daughter of Gary and Liz Simons, Kearney, and the granddaughter of Betty L. Hixon and Cleland and Mary Allen, all of Fort Scott.

The groom is the son of Duane and Becky Kohlstaedt, Cameron, Mo.

The couple reside in Kansas City, Mo.
