Clarence M. "Hank" Ewing, age 79 of Nevada died on Saturday, May 29, 2010, at the Nevada Regional Medical Center in Nevada, as the result of a sudden illness. Clarence was born on May 28, 1931, in Glaslyn, Saskatchewan, Canada, to Kenneth E. and Fannie A. Hobbs Ewing. On July 9, 1976, he was married to Patsy Ann Wallace and she survives of the home.

Clarence moved to Illinois in 1954 and became an American citizen. He then moved to the Nevada area in 1969 where he resided until the time of his death. In his younger days, Clarence drove a milk truck and then was a carpenter most of his life. His passions were his horses, trail rides, fishing, telling tall tales, and his family.

In addition to his wife Patsy, survivors include eight children, Wayne Ewing and his wife Mary, Everette Ewing and his wife Cheryl, George Rosenbaum and his wife Kathleen all from the state of Illinois, Yvonne Stephens and her husband Mike, Roy Ewing of Pittsburg, Kan., Deana Castlebury and her husband Joe of Sheldon, Terri Chadd of Milo, and Rhonda Hackathorne of Lamar, one sister, Joy Brazziel, Texas, and a brother Bob Ewing of Bradford, Ill.; 24 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Rose Mary Merdock and Phyllis Rosenbaum; two brothers, Everette Ewing and an infant brother, one grandson, three great-grandchildren, and a son-in-law, Gary Chadd.

A memorial service was held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 1, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Matt Chadd officiating. The family received friends from 9-10 a.m., before the service at the funeral home.
