Students travel to Washington, D.C.

A group of travelers from the Nevada Middle School recently returned from a Smithsonian Student Travel educational trip to Washington D.C. and area Civil War battlefields. Students pictured in front of the White House are, front row, left to right: Austin Gayman, Daxtyn Osburn, Monica Gerken, Taylor Dockery, Brett Snead, Shayna Meisenheimer, and Abbie Landoll. The second row includes Alex Payne, Faith Gillbert, Carly Greer, Rilie Good, Crystal Miller, Nakell Baker and Alyx Hawkins. Adult travelers not pictured were Mike Good, Arlene Good, Bill Miller, Robin Miller, Cynthia Carlson, Errica Gayman, Angie Landoll, Marla Kay Snead, Kim Greer and Terry Greer. A trip to New York City and Boston is planned for May 2011 and interested seventh and eighth grade students may contact Kim Greer at Nevada Middle School when school begins.

If they would only let them into the Capital, I'm sure they could pass better laws. Their innocent background and sincerity would also be a refreshing change.
