Juanita Mae Heitz Dominguez, age 88, former resident of Bronaugh, Mo., died Thursday, July 29, at Fort Scott Manor Nursing Home. She was born Feb. 17, 1922, in Liberal, Mo., the daughter of Lawrence and Lulu Hill Copeland.

She graduated from Mindenmines High School in the class of 1939. After attending beauty school, she worked as a beautician until her marriage to John Heitz on April 12, 1941. He preceded her in death on June 5, 1963. Juanita later married Francisco Dominguez on Sept. 4, 1970. He preceded her in death on Oct. 23, 1997. She worked at Cottey College in food service for several years later in life. She was a member of the Topaz chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, Garland, Kan., White Shrine, Order of Amaranth and V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary in Fort Scott, the Thrift Circle Club and Glenwood Club. She was a member of the Hannon Baptist Church in Liberal.

Survivors include two sons, Larry Heitz and John Heitz and wife Debra Lynn, Bronaugh; one daughter Peggy Dickey and husband Francis, Bronaugh; one sister, Billie Rutledge, Walker; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to both husbands, she was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Copeland as well as her parents.

Rev. Robert Nutting and Rev. Daniel "Buck" Dickey will conduct funeral services at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 4, in the Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S. Main, Fort Scott. Burial will follow in the McKill Cemetery, Bronaugh. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at the Cheney Witt Chapel.
