Detention hearing today for Henry

Tuesday, September 14, 2010

Suspended Nevada Post Master Dennis Henry will appear in federal court in Kansas City, Mo., today for a detention hearing, according to Don Ledford of the United States Attorney's Office in Kansas City.

Ledford said the hearing will be to determine if Henry will be granted bail. The U.S. Attorney's Office requested detention until trial for the other four men charged in the case, but not for Henry. The court took it upon itself to impose the detention on Henry.

Henry and four other Missouri men were arrested last week on an 11-count federal indictment that was returned by a Kansas City jury on Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010.

The indictment names Edward Bagley Sr., 43, and Michael Stokes, 62, both of Lebanon, Mo., Dennis Henry, 50, of Wheatland, Mo., James Noel, 44, of Springfield, Mo., and Bradley Cook, 31, of St. Louis, in a human sex trafficking conspiracy.

Henry is being held in federal custody somewhere "in the Kansas City" area according to Ledford.
