Letter to the Editor

Thank you Nevada

Tuesday, September 21, 2010

Dear members of the Nevada community:

On behalf of Cottey College, I wish to express my appreciation for the community picnic to welcome Cottey students to Nevada. The Franklin P. Norman Community Center was an excellent setting for the event. The participation of businesses, the IMPACT Nevada Tourism Board, parks and recreation staff, the Chamber of Commerce, and the faith community presented Nevada as a welcoming home for Cottey students.

We, at Cottey, are looking forward to a busy year on campus. The community is invited to enjoy volleyball, softball, and basketball games; plays; recitals; and other cultural events. We want Cottey College to be an asset to our community. As usual, this year's entering class brings rich geographic and cultural diversity to our community. We have international students from 23 countries, and other students from 41 states.

Again, I want to thank the Nevada community for welcoming Cottey students and their families so warmly.

Sincerely,

Judy R. Rogers President, Cottey College
