Raymond J. Jenkins, 76, of Nevada, passed away at his home on Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010, following a lengthy illness. Raymond was born on April 19, 1934, in Nevada, to Harry M. Jenkins and Laura Bell Young Jenkins. On June 10, 1954, he was married in Visalia, Calif., to Shirley A. Helums and she survives of the home.

Raymond was a lifelong resident of the Nevada area. He worked for Pohl Farms and Pohl Construction and later for White Rock Quarry in Vernon County. Raymond enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Survivors in addition to his wife, Shirley, include his three children, Deb Anderson and her husband, Andy, Eldorado Springs, Mike Jenkins and his wife, Amber, of Nevada, and Rayna Handley and her husband, Bill, of Nevada; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two sisters, Velma Phillips of Nevada and Dorothy Matheney of Nevada; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Cecil Jenkins and Margaret Kellerhals and Virginia Wilt.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, Nov. 26, at Newton Burial Park, Nevada. Friends may call from now until 2 p.m., Friday, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
