Peggy Lou (Tough) Westerhold

Peggy Lou (Tough) Westerhold passed away on Dec. 16, 2010, near Metz, from injuries received from an auto accident. She was born Sept. 12, 1931, in Metz, Mo., the daughter of Roy and Ruth (Walker) Tough.

Peggy lived near Metz most all of her life. She was a graduate from Metz High School. She was united in marriage to Glen Westerhold on Feb. 11, 1950. To this union, two sons were born. Peggy worked in the insurance business in Nevada for several years. She had a great love for her pets and enjoyed working outdoors and being with family and friends. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents and by husband Glen on Dec. 27, 2003.

She is survived by her two sons, Mike Westerhold and his wife, Brenda, of Nevada, Mo., and Jack Westerhold and his wife, Renea, of Metz; one brother, Bob Tough and his wife, Frieda, of Metz; one sister, Mary Ellen Sweete of Metz; five grandchildren, Kevin, Justin, Kessie Dawn (Poohfer), Jared and Joshua; seven great-grandchildren; and other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Dec. 20, at 10 a.m., at the Heuser Funeral Home, Rich Hill, with the Rev. Bill Perkey officiating. Burial will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to People for Pets in Vernon County c/o Heuser Funeral Home.
