Leaf pickup to continue

Saturday, December 25, 2010

The city of Nevada will begin the second round of picking up leaves on Monday, Dec. 27. Work will begin in the southwest quarter, followed by the northwest, northeast and southeast quarters of the city.

Residents should rake leaves and pile them behind the curb -- not in the street, according to a press release from the city of Nevada.

Twigs, bagged leaves or limbs will not be accepted, but residents may take limbs and unbagged grass clippings or leaves to the compost site, 702 S. Jefferson, Nevada, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m., and the first and third Saturdays of each month, 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Closed on holidays.
