Donald W. McIntosh, 67, Nevada, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010, at his home in Nevada following a brief illness. He was born Feb. 15, 1943, in Nevada, to Donald William McIntosh and Ruby Marie Gardner McIntosh. He married Janet Longstreth on June 30, 1968, in Nevada, and she survives of the home.

Don grew up in the Sheldon and Milo areas and graduated from Nevada High School in 1961. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1962 where he served for 20 years until 1982. Following his retirement from the Air Force, he returned to the family farm in rural Sheldon, Mo., where he and Janet resided until November of 2010. Don enjoyed looking after the farm and raising cattle. He was a member of the Milford Christian Church, Milford, Mo.

Survivors in addition to his wife, Janet, include one brother, Dean McIntosh and his wife, Mary, Moundville, Mo.; two sisters, Wava Halcomb, Nevada, and Jean Nieweg and her husband, Warren, Carthage, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., at the Milford Christian Church on Friday, Dec. 31, with the Rev. Cliff Hazzard officiating. Interment with Military Rites will follow in St. James Cemetery near Milford. Friends may call now and until 11 a.m., at the funeral home on Friday. The family receives friends from 7-8 p.m., Thursday, at Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington, Nevada.

Memorials may be given to the Heartland Hospice of Butler, Mo., or the Milford Christian Church c/o Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
