Violet N. Rondeau

Violet N. Rondeau, 78, Walker, Mo., passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011, at her daughter's home in Walker, following a brief illness. She was born Aug. 5, 1932, in Newburg, Ore., to Jessie Carl Adams and Elnora Spiece Adams. She married Leland J. Rondeau on April 24, 1948, in Pendleton, Ore., and he preceded her in death on June 1, 1989.

Violet was raised in Oregon. She and her husband came to Harwood in 1976. She had lived in rural Walker for the past 20 years. One of her favorite pastimes was eating breakfast with her great-granddaughter, Brylee, each morning. She was known for her quilting and baking bread and biscuits.

Survivors include one daughter, Laura Lusk, of the home; three grandsons, Joe Lusk and his wife, Anna, Walker, Mo., Marc Lusk and his wife, Beth, Nevada, Mo., and Tim Lusk and his wife Shelly, Walker, Mo.; eight great-grandchildren, Mickey Jones, Sammy Jones, Kasey Jones, Ryan Lusk, Travis Lusk, Nicole Lusk, Crestin Lusk and Brylee Lusk; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Beverly Jones; two brothers, Leland Adams and Carl Adams; and one sister, Ruth Peterman.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 7, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada. A private committal will be held at a later date at the Green Mound Cemetery near Harwood.
