Cancer survivors' tea set for March 20

Thursday, March 17, 2011

The Nevada Regional Medical Center and the Vernon County Relay for Life Committee will hold their annual Cancer Survivor Tea on Sunday, March 20. The Tea will be held at the Medical Center's reception area on the second floor mezzanine from 2 to 4 p.m.

"This year's tea is being held in the spring in hopes of avoiding the inclement weather we have had in the past," committed Linda Chesnut, Survivorship committee member. "The spring season is also a time of a renewal of life and those whose lives have been touched by cancer understand the desire for a renewal of life." All cancer survivors and a guest are invited to come enjoy the refreshments and door prizes, she added.

"This tea is one of the ways we stay in contact with cancer survivors throughout the year," Chesnut continued. "Invitations have already been sent to survivors on our mailing list, but we feel sure there are many survivors in Vernon County we are unaware of." Chesnut wants all cancer survivors to know, "Even if you have not received an invitation, please come to the tea."

To be added to the survivor list or for more information, please call Linda Chesnut at (417) 448-1144.
