Tigers fall to Colgan

Thursday, March 31, 2011
Nevada Tiger pitcher Kyle "Bubba" Banes fields a bunt and throws to first for an out in the first inning of Wednesday's 16-3 loss to Colgan at Lyon Stadium. "We're hitting the ball pretty good, but need to work on our defense," Chris Petroski, Nevada head baseball coach, said. Although Nevada pitchers walked 12 batters and the team committed four errors, Kyle "Bubba" Banes, Taylor Scotten and Corey Kerbs helped offset that with their hitting. Banes added a triple, Scotten a double and Kerbs two base hits. The Tigers are scheduled to play in Carthage today, the Mac County Tournament Saturday, and in the Bill O'Dell Tournament in Carthage next week. Their next home game will be Friday, April 16, when they play Seneca. Ralph Pokorny/Daily Mail
