A new feature in the MINK League this year is the selection of a player and pitcher of the week. Each weeks winners are chosen by a vote of each team's general manager, who cannot vote for one of their team members.

Last week Griffons second year player Peter Barrows was chosen as the Player of the Week and St. Joseph Mustangs Cody Cunnigham was chosen as Pitcher of the week.

Barrows, Old Saybrook, Conn., played in six games during that week, amassing 11 hits in 25 at bats, and had a .440 batting average.

He hit two home runs and drove in seven runs.

The Mustangs Cody Cunningham started the June 2 game at Omaha and threw the first no-hitter in the Mustangs' history. He pitched nine innings and had no hits and no runs, with an ERA. of 0.0.

Over the weekend the Griffons went 2-2. losing Friday night 4-3 to the Clarinda A's in 11 innings and then splitting a doubleheader Saturday with the Omaha Diamond Sprits. The Griffons lost the first game 13-6 and then turned around and won the second game, 13-6.

Sunday night the Griffons finished their road games with Omaha with a 9-2 win.

The Griffons are now 4-3 in MINK League play and in second place in the south division behind the 1-0 Ozark Generals.

The Griffons next game will be tonight at 7 against the 4-0 St. Joseph Mustangs, who will return to Nevada on Thursday for their final visit.
