The Nevada Red Sox AAA Legion team lost two games Wednesday and won a third contest Thursday in the 23rd Annual Fike 499 Woodbat Invitational Tournament in Blue Springs.. In Wednesday's first game against Post 339 East from Omaha, Neb. the Red Sox battled in a 2-1 game until the sixth inning when Omaha plated four runs to take a 5-2 led after six innings. The Red Sox were able to score a single tally in the top of the seventh inning but came up short, losing 5-3. Ross Means pitched a masterful 5 2/3 innings, but the bullpen came up short with Kyle "Bubba" Banes getting the loss. In the second game Wednesday, the Red Sox played SMCI from DeSoto, Mo., and never got anything going, losing 10 -1 in a 5 inning run-rule game. Pitching control problems and errors were too much to overcome.
