Stanley returning home to play at Cottey College

NEVADA -- Cottey College Comets softball coach Shelli Stanley is pleased to announce the signing of Rachel Kennedy for this season's team. Kennedy, a 2010 graduate of Nevada High School and daughter of Scott and Belinda Kennedy, is transferring from Northwest Missouri State University.

In high school, Kennedy was a four-year letter winner, had a .379 batting average her senior year, received both the MVP Award and Leadership Award, and was named the Outstanding Scholar/Athlete in 2010. She played for coaches Brandi Thompson and Tammy Holcomb at NHS.

Kennedy has also played for the Swing Builder Lightning ASA (Amateur Softball Association) summer team. Her coaches were Doug Glasscock and Les Norman.

A pitcher and outfielder, Kennedy is the 12th signee for coach Stanley's entering class.
