Tigers run at Bolivar, Bledsoe takes fifth

BOLIVAR--The Nevada High School cross country team competed at the Bolivar Invitational on Tuesday.

Nevada senior Alex Bledsoe finished fifth overall in the varsity 5K. Bledsoe crossed the line at 18:20. Republic's Ryan Way was first with a time of 17:40.

Also for Nevada, Ben Sommers finished 23rd with a time of 19:16. Both Bledsoe and Sommers earned medals for NHS.

Also in the varsity race, Dalton Shunkwiler finished 50th (20:38), and David Vickers was 89th (23:25).

The Tigers will run at the Doc Stiles Invitational on Tuesday in Iola, Kan.

NHS JV results

Nevada had three runners in the JV boys race at Bolivar. Sam Eador was 34th with a time of 24:03, Max Daniel was 42nd (24:39) and Kiran Cain was 60th (26:43).

NMS results

John Quitno finished 31st in the middle school boys 3200 with a time of 12:01 and Thomas Prewitt was 34th (24:11).
