Bledsoe takes first at Iola Invite

IOLA, Kan. -- Alex Bledsoe topped the entire varsity boys field at the Doc Stiles Invitational at Iola's Riverside Park on Tuesday afternoon. A Nevada High School senior, Bledsoe crossed the line first in the boys 5K with a time of 17:39. Also for Nevada, Ben Sommer was 11th overall with a time of 19:08, Dalton Shunkwiler finished 29th with a time of 20:27 and David Vickers was 43rd (22:33). Sam Eador finished 44th (22:37).

In the JV boys race, Kieran Cain finished 44th (26:57). In the freshman boys 4K, Max Daniel took 15th (19:32). Thomas Prewitt and John Quitno finished first and second, respectively, in the middle school boys mile.

Prewitt finished with a time of 6:53 and Quitno was right behind with a 6:57.
