Nevada football at Holden tonight
The Nevada High School football team will travel to Holden Thursday in the regular season finale. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
Nevada JV/freshman football falls to Clinton
Clinton defeated Nevada 26-20 in a combined JV and freshman game on Monday night.
Youth boys basketball camp coming soon
The annual Nevada Tiger Youth Basketball Camp will be held on Saturdays in November and December under the direction of NHS boys coach John McNeley. The instructional sessions are for boys in grades 3-6.
The cost is $25 per player.
The instructional sessions will be held Nov. 5, 12 and 19 from 9-10:30 a.m. at Wynn Gym. The "game-like situation" sessions will be held on Dec. 3, 10, and 17 from 9-11 a.m.
Boys can register before the first session on Nov. 5, McNeley said.

Area volleyball players named all-conference
The Golden Valley/Vernon County Conference has announced its all-league volleyball team.
Hume's Makena Thompson, Hannah Jacobs and Tori Sears were listed on the first team, along with Sheldon's Erica Conner and Bronaugh's Rae Ann Mader. Second team picks include Jessica Rawlings and Caitlin Claflin of Sheldon, Hume's Emily Brooks and Abby Yarick, and Northeast Vernon County's Spencer Hoagland.
Cottey ranked in preseason hoops poll
The Cottey College basketball team is ranked 11th in the NJCAA D-II preseason women's poll. The team begins the 2011-12 season on Nov. 1 at Missouri Valley JV.
