MoDOT bridge work to take place today on U.S. 71

The Missouri Department of Transportation has announced that there will be one southbound lane and one northbound lane of U.S. 71 Highway closed today due to bridge work. The bridge is located just south of Nevada, where the highway goes over the Missouri Northern Arkansas Railroad, according to MoDOT. Motorists should exercise caution while traveling through this area.

Workers and equipment will be present along various routes throughout the county. Motorists also should be on the lookout for workers repairing approaches as well as for slow-moving operation to spray herbicides to control weeds, which also is scheduled to take place along various routes in Cedar County.
