Cottey falls short at Crowder

NEOSHO -- The Cottey College basketball team came up just short at Crowder College on Wednesday night, as the host Roughriders earned a 54-47 victory over the Comets.

Cottey fell to 5-4 on the season with the loss.

Crowder, now 11-5 on the year, led 29-22 at the half.

The second half was even, as both teams scored 25 points.

Cottey was still in the game with four minutes to play, but the Roughriders converted a few turnovers into layups to pull away.

Petra Stankovic scored 14 points to lead Cottey, while Bailey Braden added 12 points and 19 rebounds.

Jordan Davidson did not play for Cottey.

Terai Sadler and Caprese Marshall scored 12 apiece for Crowder.

Dave Ketterman's Comets head to St. Louis this weekend for a date with SLCC-Forest Park.
