Cottey earns road win, home tonight

HESSTON, Kan. -- Santana Cruz's 24 points led four players in double figures as the Cottey College basketball team defeated Hesston 79-71 on Saturday.

Cruz made six of 11 field goals and also connected on 12 of 19 free throws.

Three others reached double digits, as Jordan Davidson added 18 points, Kylie Eldredge scored 17 and Petra Stankovic chipped in 12 for the Comets, now 6-6.

Cottey led 42-33 at the break. The second half was nearly even, as the hosts outscored the Comets 38-37. Dave Ketterman's Comets are home tonight against the Ottawa JV team at 6 p.m.
