Feb. 14

There was a report of a vehicular theft in the 700 block of North Ash Street. Item stolen was a 2002 Silver Jeep Cherokee with license number 5WL685. Vehicle was later recovered by Vernon County Sheriff's Department.

There was a report of a petty theft in the 200 block of South Main Street. Item stolen was a bull's skull.

3:55 p.m.: An accident occurred at U.S. 54 Highway and Prewitt Street involving an unknown vehicle and a pickup driven by John A. Steer, Fort Scott, Kan. No injuries were reported. Accident is still under investigation.

Feb. 15

There was a report of second degree burglary in the 500 block of West Sycamore Street. Items stolen were: Air conditioner unit, car wheels, cooler and cooling coils. One suspect was interviewed and two others are being sought.

There was a report of petty theft from a vehicle in the 800 block of North Ash Street. Item stolen was a silver iPod Touch.

Feb. 16

There was a report of theft/stealing in the 300 block of North Washington Street. Item stolen was a red Jazzy Select wheelchair.

There was a report of theft/stealing in the 700 block of North Clay Street. Items stolen were XBox 360 and an MP3 player.
