Tigers go for district title tonight

The Class 4, District 13 title will be on the line tonight in Harrisonville when the Nevada High School girls basketball team takes on Pleasant Hill at 6 p.m. Third-seeded Nevada advanced to the title game with a 45-39 victory over second-seeded Harrisonville on Wednesday. Number-one seed Pleasant Hill cruised to a 48-18 win over fifth-seeded Clinton in the other semifinal.

The Chicks defeated the Tigers 34-30 in December.

"We'll have our hands full," Nevada Coach Brent Bartlett said. "We hope it's a good game."

The district 13 champ will take on the district 14 champ on Feb. 29 in Lee's Summit. District 14's title game features Lincoln College Prep vs. Notre Dame de Sion.

Tonight's district 13 boys title game in Harrisonville features Grandview vs. Warrensburg at 7:30 p.m.
