'Shopping Smart' Lunch and Learn set for April 25

Thursday, April 19, 2012

As we all know, money is tight these days. Local folks will have the opportunity to find out how to effectively make and use a grocery list. How does couponing work? Is what's on sale really good for you and your family? The presentation will explore concepts of unit pricing and how a nutrition label can play a key role in determining what to purchase. Recipes also will be provided. The program will be presented by Paula Gray, University of Missouri nutrition program associate in Vernon County, April 25, from noon to 1 p.m. at the meeting room at the Nevada Public Library, 218 W. Walnut, Nevada. The program is from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. The class is free and participants may bring their own lunches and drinks. If special accomodations are needed, contact the extension office at (417) 448-2560.
