Choir to perform May 7 at Baptist church

Tuesday, May 1, 2012

The California Baptist University Choir and Orchestra will perform on May 7, at 6 p.m., at First Baptist Church, Nevada, 301 E. Highland Ave.

Through all its varied ensembles, the School of Music seeks excellence in performance, which in turn honors God. The University Choir and Orchestra is one of four choirs offered at CBU, consisting of 140 men and women, and directed by Dr. Gary Bonner. The ensemble provides a fresh and exciting approach to music in a variety of styles.

Auditions also will be held for CBU scholarship opportunities, following the service for all high school juniors and seniors, and junior college students interested in pursuing music at a four-year university.

Founded in 1950, California Baptist University is a fully accredited liberal arts university that is affiliated with the California Southern Baptist Convention. For information about the concert, call the church at (417) 667-6036 or the school of music at (800) 782-3382 ext. 4251.
