VCAD trains with new boat

Employees of the Vernon County Ambulance District take a newly-acquired rescue boat and motor out for a training session on Walton Lake in Nevada on Saturday. The 2011 model inflatable boat is made by Mercury and is 14.1 feet long and has a six foot beam. The 2012 Tohatsu motor is a 30-horsepower, four stroke, electric start engine. Boat and motor had a combined price tag of more than $7,000. The watercraft has a capacity of eight people or a combined weight of passengers and load of 2,155 pounds.
